MISSION AND HISTORY
Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies Kids Program® (HMHB) is the youth outreach division of the nonprofit Adventures In Consciousness. It has been our mission since we started in 2014, to provide both children and adults with self-awareness tools that help individuals grow into their fullest emotional, mental, and social potential.
A quiet mind is a healthy mind. Our thoughts, words, and actions are how we see the world and how the world sees us. Our thoughts and feelings impact absolutely everything we do from the inside out. When schools and societies
place priority on well-being in education, everyone thrives academically, socially, and emotionally! Wellness education is for everyone, for it is the very foundation of everything we do, and we need to educate our children to experience this for themselves.
We accomplish this growth through the tools and practices used in our programs, which have been synthesized over forty years of developmental research and deep personal practice. We have a Wellness Education system that works through awareness training, character education, and kinetic psychology. The power of innate awareness is catching fire as more individuals experience the power of transforming their feelings and choices through observation. With proven success, we have been able to bring forth proactive practices where you learn how to be in control of your emotions rather than your emotions being in control of you.
We know from our own experience and extensive scientific research, that our thoughts/emotions directly impact our health, and our connection to everyone around us. By teaching these incredible tools, our aim is to show how to simply self-heal the mind and body from the thoughts and emotions that hold us back from experiencing greater mental and physical health.
We go beyond coping mechanisms, which are typically restricted to only calming, focusing, or 'reframing' the mind. HMHB’s ultimate goal is to work on emotions at their root, making every aspect of life an opportunity for growth and personal insight. HMHB has refined the tools and practices of self-awareness to their purest and simplest forms, so even a kindergarten student can understand them!
Join us on a journey into your own inner space. HMHB Kids Programs is approved for all ages, and we are so grateful to share them!

YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTOR
COORDINATOR & TEACHER
Teacher Ash created HMHB in 2014 as the youth division of Adventures In Consciousness (AIC) after she herself was a student of AIC and it changed her life forever. She is a certified and practicing counselor, substitute teacher, yoga instructor, mental health guest speaker, wellness blogger, and "Tools For Transformation" teacher (Adventures In Consciousness 5,000 hours intensive training.) She served as the Social & Emotional Specialist at Oak Crest Academy for two years before moving back home to Ohio where she is now working in Sylvania Public Schools. Before HMHB, she had her own wellness business to help others find health after healing from the effects of her childhood cancer. Before that, she was acting, singing, dancing, and directing in commercials, films, and theatre. She's a midwestern gal at heart, and is so grateful to be a part of changing lives of kids and grown ups everywhere!
"Zen Dog" is the partner to Zen Frog, our HMHB mascot. At home, this rescued sweet Norfork Terrier goes by the name of "Yeshe" which means wisdom in Tibetan. He loves doing daily practice, is always in awareness, and loves his work as an inner space peace ambassador when he gets to go to school with Teacher Ash. He loves socks, cheese snacks, and long naps after meditating. You can hear more inner space peace tips from Zen Dog and his partner Zen Frog on their Zen Blog for HMHB members. You can see him in action on the HMHB Instagram account, as well as in his first book c0-authored with Zen Frog called, THE ADVENTURES OF ZEN FROG & ZEN DOG: HAPPINESS DETECTIVES. Zen Dog hopes everyone learns to sniff out what's already deep in their hearts.
Zen Frog is the HMHB mascot, master of inspirational quotes, and the original inner space peace ambassador! He loves showing kids how to sit in their practice position as well as how to practice many HMHB tools. You can hear more inner space peace tips from Zen Frog, and his partner Zen Dog, on their Zen Blog for HMHB members. You can see and hear Zen Frog in action on the HMHB YouTube Channel, or you can experience his books: ZEN FROG'S JOURNEY TO INNER SPACE, ZEN FROG'S JOURNEY TO THE WILD, WILD QUEST, and THE ADVENTURES OF ZEN FROG & ZEN DOG: HAPPINESS DETECTIVES. Zen Frog himself, and all his books were illustrated by his talented friend, Teresa Paczkowski. Zen Frog's message is simple: Inner Space Peace To All.

Lindaluz graduated from Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA with a B.S. in Health Psychology. Her previous experience working with children in an afterschool setting and study of the multifactor fundamentals of health, guided her to focus on mental health education targeting children and families. Luz believes that society is a reflection of family systems, and that the way to a better world is to provide families with tools that help an individual relate to themselves and to others. She thinks HMHB hit the nail on the head by creating a comprehensive guide that equips parents, teachers, children, or anyone really, with tools that do just that by encouraging and strengthening self awareness. Luz feels very grateful to have come across HMHB; she has noticed the positive psychological effects the tools have had ever since incorporating them into her daily meditation practice and is very excited to teach these tools to her community. Luz currently works as an ABA therapist for Behavior Frontiers in the Ventura County area and says that her next step is to continue her studies towards becoming a counselor and serve her latino community more directly.
